Mostly about museums, mainly in Switzerland
I was excited to hear that the Bernisches Historishes Museum was to stage a special exhibition on the subject of Samurai. Like many people, I have discovered the samurai through film and popular culture. My idea of them is that they are fearless, honourable fighters who wear impressive armour and wield even more impressive swords! But just how accurate is this perception?
There are currently two exhibitions featuring North Korea in Bern. I was intrigued to find out more and to learn about this ‘secret’ country.
Along with Albert Einstein, Paul Klee is one of Bern’s most famous residents. Bern has a museum dedicated to his work known as the Zentrum Paul Klee, situated in an impressive building designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano.
